Role of Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray Combined with Montelukast Sodium in the Treatment of Adenoids Hypertrophy in Children

Background: Adenoidectomy is currently considered the treatment of choice for children with severe symptoms caused by Adenoids Hypertrophy (AH). Non-surgical alternative options are in less cases to avoid untoward effect surgery. This study was aimed evaluate efficacy and safety Mometasone Furoate nasal spray combined Montelukast Sodium AH.
 Materials methods: trial included 118 patients aged 3 13 years having symptomatic AH from OPD Otolaryngology Head Neck Surgery CMCH May 2019 April 2020. They were allocated either (Group A: 59) or alone B: randomly 8 weeks. Outcome measures changes severity adenoid size baseline. Out enrolled children, 109 completed per protocol.
 Results: The mean total clinical symptom score before after group A respectively 10.04 (±1.78) 4.92 (±1.65). In B corresponding figures 9.42 (±1.33) 5.48 (±1.36). Clinical scores as well Adenoidalnasopharyngeal ratio dropped significantly both groups without any statistical significance between two weeks treatment.
 Conclusion: oral showed similar alleviation reduction superiority combination therapy.
